Read-a-Thon

Calling All Bookworms! Our Annual Read-A-Thon Fundraiser will take place in Spring 2026.
This event gives our children the chance to raise money for our PTA without selling anything—just by doing what they love: reading!
How does it work?
Instead of selling products, we’re focusing on promoting our school’s love for reading. The best part? 100% of the money raised during the Read-A-Thon will go directly to our school to support library books, teacher allotments, student enrichment programs, community-building activities, and so much more.
We’ve made the Read-A-Thon both easy and enjoyable for everyone! Our goal is for every child to participate and help make this event a huge success for both our school and students. For two weeks, your child is encouraged to ask family, neighbors, and friends to sponsor their reading time. Sponsors can either make a flat donation or pledge an amount per hour read.
What Counts (and What Doesn’t)?
- What counts:
- Reading before and after school
- Being read to
- Reading instead of watching TV
- Reading under the covers with a flashlight (only if your parents say it’s okay!)
- Reading in the library during school time
- What doesn’t count:
- Reading during class time (unless you’re in the library)
- Watching the movie based on the book
- Reading outside the official Read-A-Thon dates
Fun tip for older students: If you read to a younger sibling or friend, it counts for both of you!
Prizes!
We’ve got plenty of exciting prizes up for grabs:
- Grand Prize: The top fundraiser and the top reader (most hours read) will win the grand prize!
- Grade Level Prizes: The top reader from each grade level will receive a special prize.
- Top Class: The class that raises the most donations will win a class party!
- Raffle: For every $10 a student raises, they’ll earn a chance to win fun raffle prizes!
Thank you so much for supporting our readers and helping make this event a success for our school!
Happy Reading!
